Steve Ellis
Steve's work is about movement, energy and storytelling. The intense color and movement of his work is how he gained the nickname hypersteve which he has used on his website for many years. Steve has been an illustrator, creator and author of comics, games and books. Over his varied career he has created artwork and conceived of projects for companies such as Wizards of the Coast, Random House, Impact books, Marvel Comics, DC Comics, AMC, Scholastic Books, Blizzard Entertainment and many others. With author David Gallaher, the award winning werewolf western webcomic, High Moon, for DC Comics' Zuda. Which is now to be found on the iphone, ipad and the web.(www.highmooncomic.com) The graphic novel has garnered impressive reviews, over 2.7 million viewers, and was awarded the 2009 Harvey Award for Best Web Comic He has since been nominated for two more Harvey awards including Best Inker for 2010. Also in 2009, Steve co-created the pioneering thriller comic Box 13 for Comixology. Not only has it been highly acclaimed, it is notable as one of the first comics conceived and designed specifically for the iPhone. The print version was released in June of 2010. As well as illustrating, Steve wrote the how-to-book, Scream: Drawing Vampires Werewolves and other Monsters which has appeared worldwide. He has also had work in The Copro Nason gallery in Los Angeles, Last Rites gallery NYC as well as Yves Lautre Gallery in Montreal. Steve lives in Brooklyn with his wife and children Rocketboy and Buttercup.
